The multimedia ticket validator forms part of HID’s ticket reader portfolio for mass transit. The device combines barcode and NFC/RFID reading functionality to provide a single point of presentation for tickets and travel passes – whether presented on a paper ticket, smartcard or mobile phone.

The HID VAL100 Reader, equipped with the HID TripTick™ 220 module, offers:

EMV Level 2 certification for contactless payments
PCI and SRED compliance for contactless payments using major payment processors (VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, JCB, and Discover)

VAL100 has also obtained the ITxPT approval label, meaning the unit easily integrates with on-board devices and vehicle computers to help create a plug-and-play AFC environment. The open architecture design of the VAL100 enables it to integrate with any third party software.
